Share business files safely
Use approved storage, verify recipients, and grant only the access needed for the right amount of time.
Store and share business files through your organization’s approved Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or managed file system. Avoid personal email, consumer file-transfer sites, personal cloud drives, and unapproved USB devices.
Before sharing, verify every recipient and confirm whether they need to view or edit. Prefer named recipients over an unrestricted public link. Set an expiration date when the platform supports it, especially for outside parties, and remove access when the work is complete.
Do not share passwords, recovery codes, financial information, regulated data, or other sensitive material unless the approved process specifically protects it. If you are unsure whether a file may be shared, pause and ask the file owner or dnbtec.
