Troubleshoot a Microsoft 365 sign-in problem safely

Verify the official sign-in page and capture the error without exposing credentials or approving unexpected prompts.

Begin from the Microsoft 365 application or your organization’s known sign-in page. Do not use a sign-in link from an unexpected email or text. Confirm that the displayed account is your work account before continuing.

Read the complete error message and note whether the problem affects Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, or every Microsoft 365 service. Check whether coworkers are affected. Do not repeatedly approve multi-factor prompts, and never approve a prompt you did not initiate.

If a password reset is offered, use only the organization’s approved reset process. Send dnbtec the account address, affected service, exact error, approximate start time, and whether the problem follows you to another device. Never include your password or an MFA code.
