What to do with a suspicious email

Stop, preserve the message, and report it before clicking, replying, or forwarding.

Do not click links, open attachments, reply, call a number in the message, or follow instructions to move money or change account details.

Report the message through your organization’s approved process or send a support request to dnbtec. Preserve the original message so its sender, links, and technical details can be reviewed. Do not forward it to coworkers as a warning unless your security process specifically asks you to.

If you already clicked, entered a password, approved a sign-in, opened an attachment, or sent information, say exactly what happened and when. Disconnect the affected device from the network if it is safe to do so, but do not power it off unless directed.
